One of the excise taxable goods that dominate revenue in Indonesia is tobacco excise. In which under Sri Mulyani's time as Finance Minister, the tobacco excise tax rates increased almost every year. In Indonesia, Tobacco industry generates economic benefits as the highest contributor to excise-based state revenues-tobacco excise reached IDR IDR 188.8 trillion in 2021, 95.5% of all excise revenue for the year. It also creates both upstream and downstream employment.
